You must use the Check-In button to replace files that the user currently has checked out. When the hand on the icon is pink, this indicates that you currently have files checked out. Clicking the button will display the list of files that you have checked out. The list of files is not limited to the directory you are currently in. The list covers all files you have checked out from the site. If you do not have any files currently checked out, the hand will be gray.
