When this option is selected, a wizard appears asking for the type of SmartFolder, the SmartFolder name and the security settings for the SmartFolder.

 The types of SmartFolders available include:

• Project Level SmartFolder

• Task/Action Items SmartFolder

• RFI Container SmartFolder

• File Repository SmartFolder

• Message Board SmartFolder

• Chat SmartFolder

• Instant Messenger

• Survey SmartFolder

• Meeting Minutes SmartFolder

• Bid Manager SmartFolder

• Submittals SmartFolder

• Transmittals SmartFolder

• Request for Approval SmartFolder

• News Feed SmartFolder

• Calendar SmartFolder

The specific use of these SmartFolders will be described in a later section of the Users Guide.

After choosing the type of SmartFolder and entering the display name, the SmartFolder security setting can be made. To change the security settings, click on the change security button. The Change Security window will appear.

The upper window shows all available users. When you are in a Project Level Folder that is directly under the Site Level, this list will include every user on the Construction LS server.

In the middle of the window, options are provided to control SmartFolder level access. There are four types of access available to users:

• Read Only - for viewing only

• General User - file upload and download permission only

• Master Editor - full permission except change security

• SmartFolder Admin - full permission

To change the SmartFolder security, select a user that you want to add from the upper window. Their name will become highlighted and the access box will become active. Select the desired access level and press the Add button.

All users with access to the SmartFolder will be listed in the lower window. To remove a user, select their name in the lower window and press the remove button.

When finished, clicking the OK button will return you to the Add SmartFolder window. Pressing the Finish button will complete the process of adding a New SmartFolder to Construction LS.

NOTE: This process is repeated for adding a SmartFolder at any level within Construction LS.
